The role of the designer is to better the space that surrounds us. Better it in terms of cost, function and appearance and in a way that connects with our personal desires and aspirations.
Designworks is a design and build business. We will take care of your project from the initial consultation and design through to installation. We work on a variety of interior areas such as museum exhibits, furniture, cabinets and product design.
Design is a collaborative process and we often work with other designers, retailers, suppliers and contractors depending on the demands and scope of your project.
Designworks founder Peter Galonski was trained in Industrial design at the University of Alberta and while teaching design part time he pursued a variety of design projects.
After moving to Nelson BC and teaching In the Wood Products Design program , he has been active in a number of projects in the area:
The Nelson Touchstones Museum, the Grand Forks Museum, Castlegar City Hall interior, and the Toyota Dealership interior to name a few.
There has also been a variety of residential interiors including kitchen, bathrooms and furniture.
He has also developed a furniture accessory line incorporating moulded plywood which has been distributed in Western Canada.
